PRAYER AND WORSHIP MINISTRIES

 


ALTAR SERVERS (child, teen or adult)

Duties: Assist the presider during Mass by holding the Sacramentary, helping at presentation of the gifts, carrying the cross, etc.
Time: One Mass every 3 weeks (arrive 20 minutes early), plus initial training and on-going formation sessions
Special Skills: An ability to be graceful, attentive and reverent at Mass; dependability

EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS (adult)

Duties: Assist with distribution of the Eucharist and cleaning vessels after Mass
Time: One Mass every three weeks (stay 20 minutes after Mass), plus initial training and on-going formation sessions
Special Skills: Love and reverence for the Eucharist; ease in public settings; Catholic in good standing who has received the sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist)

EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS TO THE HOMEBOUND (adult)

Duties: Bring Eucharist to and pray with homebound parishioners regularly
Time: One hour each week; initial one
-time training; one annual meeting
Special Skills: Ability to comfort people with prayer; a willingness to grow in the Lord’s service

Duties: Proclaim the Scripture readings at Mass with reverence and understanding
Time: One Mass every 3 weeks, with one formation session Saturday mornings; personal time spent in study and reflection on the Word
Special Skills: A love for God’s Word and desire to study it more deeply; a clear speaking voice; an ease speaking in front of people; Catholic in good standing who has received the sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist)

SACRISTANS (Adult)

Duties: Prepare for Mass by setting out vessels, bread and wine, lighting altar candles, etc.
Time: One Mass every 3 weeks (arrive 30 minutes prior to Mass); plus initial training session and an annual formation meeting
Special Skills: A caring eye for detail; a desire to help “behind the scenes”

USHERS (men, women and high school youth)

Duties: Seat parishioners; pass baskets at collection time; ensure orderly flow at communion time; distribute bulletins
Time: One Mass every 3 weeks (arrive 30 minutes early), plus initial training and an annual formation session
Special Skills: A love of order; an ability to graciously welcome people

LINEN CARETAKERS (families or individuals)

Duties: Take home dirty vestments, altar cloths, purificators and towels, and clean/press them
Time: Approximately 3 hours a week during one month a year
Special Skills: A caring eye for detail; knowledge concerning laundering and pressing

CHOIR (teen or adult)

Duties: Sing at one Mass each week with joy and enthusiasm.
Time: One Mass per week, plus one rehearsal each week
Special Skills: A clear voice and a good ear (sight-reading skills desirable but not necessary)

MUSICIAN (child, teen or adult)

Duties: Play piano, organ, guitar or other instrument at Mass
Time: As frequently as you wish, at least weekly with the choir.
Special Skills: Experience of at least 1 year on your instrument; a love for playing at liturgy

HAITIAN CHARISMATIC PRAYER GROUP
Goal: Joining in prayer to worship, praise and to give glory to God in the Spirit. We believe the more we seek God, the more God's spirit is reveal. Learn and use the charismatic gifts and other gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Time: Prayer groups meet every week for about 2 to 3 hours. Please join us. Special Skills:

SPANISH CHARISMATIC PRAYER GROUP
Goal:
Joining in prayer to worship, praise and to give glory to God in the Spirit. We believe the more we seek God, the more God's spirit is reveal. Learn and use the charismatic gifts and other gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Time: Prayer groups meet every Friday in the cafeteria from 7:30 pm – 10:30 pm we gather to praise the Lord with songs, prayers and sharing. Please join us.
Special Skills:

“LOVE IN THE SPIRIT” PRAYER GROUP
Goal:
Joining in prayer to worship, praise and to give glory to God in the Spirit. We believe the more we seek God, the more God's spirit is reveal. Learn and use the charismatic gifts and other gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Time: Thursday in the Chandelier Room from 8:00 pm – 10:00 pm we gather to praise the Lord with songs, prayers and sharing. Please join us.
Special Skills:
