Duties:
Catholic outreach in our neighborhood through home visitation, written
materials, special events.
Time: 2 hours
biweekly plus special events.
Special Skills: Love for sharing the
Catholic faith.

CATECHUMENATE TEAM
Duties: Facilitate the
process of initiating new members into our Roman Catholic community of faith
through Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist; team duties include: catechist,
sponsor formation, hospitality, publicity, and newsletter production.
Time: Time varies (from a few hours
several times a year to one hour every week); receive on-the-job training and
coaching from a mentor; workshops also offered
Special Skills: Requires people of
faith and prayer with a strong sense of community, witnesses to the Gospel,
good listeners

INFANT BAPTISM PREPARATION
Duties: Lead parents in group discussions about their faith journeys, the
meaning of the sacrament of Baptism, and the critical role parents play in
their children’s faith development
Time: Three 2-hour sessions on
consecutive Sunday afternoons; preparation time; initial and on-going
formation; twice annually
Special Skills: Hospitality,
faith-sharing, small group facilitation

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION CATECHIST
Duties: Help children grow in faith
through their participation in the parish religious education program;
positions include: catechists, aides, child care assistants, and special
projects managers
Time: Once a week (3 to 4 hours
preparation time, plus one and half hour instruction time); September through
May (23 sessions); training available for each ministry
Special Skills: Enjoy working with
children; experience helpful

NEO-CATHECHUMENAL WAY
GOAL: To grow in the Catholic faith
through listening to the Word of God, celebration of the Eucharist and support
of each other’s ongoing conversion in a small faith community that follows a
post-baptismal catechumenate. There are annual
retreats and opportunities to serve and evangelize. To join a community there
is a series of formational talks.
Time: Two weekly meetings in
the evening plus two annual retreats
Special
Skills: A willingness to have
a more personal relationship with the Lord and His people.
