Duties: Working with
the pastor on establishing the priorities and directions of the parish.
Time: Nominees to
serve two-year term. Elections are held in the last week of June or the first
week of July

WEEKEND MASSES DRIVERS
Duties: Planning transportation,
coordinating rides and driving those in the parish that lack of transportation
during the regular weekend Masses
Time: Volunteer decides amount of
time (weekly, monthly, etc.); requires
driver’s license and own car

desire to help others

BEREAVEMENT MINISTRY
Duties: Provide help to those in the
parish who have just experienced a death of a loved one (e.g., attending and/ or
presiding at the wake, acting as a liturgical minister, singing in the funeral
choir, organizing and preparing desserts for the home gathering following the
rosary or funeral service and offering hospitality and support).
Special Skills:
Training as needed; desire to help others

NEWCOMERS WELCOMING
Duties: Assist to bimonthly gathering
for newcomers to our parish, or make follow-up phone calls to welcome newly
registered parishioners.
Time: 2 hours per month for Sunday sessions, or 1–2 hours per month for
phone calls.
Special Skills: Primarily a
willingness and dedication to reach out to welcome and encourage new people,
whether in person or by phone

LANGUAGE
TEACHER
Duties: Teaches English or Spanish to parishioners interested.
Time: 1 hour per week plus another for preparation. Need to
assist to coordination meetings.
Special Skills: Command both of English and Spanish. High
school studies or higher. Ability to teach.

PARISH EVENTS COMMITTEE
Duties: Organize social events that promote community
within the parish (i.e. parish feast, Christmas bazaar, picnic, dances, etc.)
Time: Variable

MEMBERSHIP OUTREACH
Duties: Reach out members of the
parish on regular basis and in special activities (e.g., home visiting, phoning).
Time: Once a week (1 to 2 hours), plus bimonthly
meetings for planning
Special Skills: Primarily a
willingness and dedication to reach out members and encourage then to be active
in the parish, whether in person or by phone

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS
GOAL: Association of Catholic men
united to care for members in need, for spiritual growth and for service to
Church and needy.
Time:
Second and fourth Tuesday of each month plus special events

Skills: Open to any practical Catholic man over the age of 18 years.
